Page 443 of the Qur'an contains Surah Ya-Sin (Chapter 36), verses 41 through 54. This section focuses on more divine signs given to humanity—specifically the miracle of maritime travel and ships—before transitioning into the stubbornness of the disbelievers when reminded to give charity. It concludes with a powerful, vivid description of the blowing of the Trumpet (Al-Sur) and the sudden awakening of all souls for the final judgment.
Classical commentaries (Tafsir), including those by Ibn Kathir, Al-Qurtubi, and Al-Tabari, link these verses to several authentic Hadiths and statements from the Sunnah:
"And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in the laden ship. And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride." (Surah Ya-Sin 36:41-42)
The Ark of Nuh (Noah) as a Universal Sign: The Sunnah of the Companions explains that "the laden ship" (Al-Fulk al-Mashhun) refers explicitly to the Ark of Nuh. Allah preserved the knowledge of shipbuilding from that event as a perpetual mercy for all future human civilizations to travel and trade across the seas.
The Sunnah of Gratitude and Remembrance When Boarding: Because Allah highlights transportation as a divine sign in verse 42 ("that which they ride"), the Prophet ﷺ established a precise Sunnah of praising Allah whenever boarding a mount, a ship, or any modern vehicle.
Sahih Muslim (1342): Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted his camel to set out on a journey, he would say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is Most Great) three times, and then recite the Quranic prayers of travel, acknowledging that humans could never master these modes of transportation without Allah's subduing power.
"And when it is said to them, 'Spend from that which Allah has provided for you,' those who disbelieve say to those who believe, 'Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error.'" (Surah Ya-Sin 36:47)
The Wealth Belongs to Allah: The disbelievers in this verse viewed wealth as entirely their own, mockingly arguing that if God wanted the poor to eat, He should feed them Himself. The Sunnah radically corrects this worldview by establishing that wealth is merely a trust (Amanah), and feeding others is an absolute obligation.
Sahih al-Bukhari (1442) & Sahih Muslim (1010): The Prophet ﷺ said: "Every day two angels come down from heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your cause,' and the other says, 'O Allah! Bring ruin upon every person who withholds [miserly].'"
"They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing... And the Trumpet will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten." (Surah Ya-Sin 36:49-51)
These verses describe the transition from the end of worldly life to the awakening of the Resurrection. The Sunnah provides explicit details on how these physical events will unfold:
The Suddenness of the First Blast: Verse 49 states the blast will catch people "while they are disputing" in their everyday lives.
Sahih al-Bukhari (6506): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Hour will be established while two men are spreading a piece of cloth between them, yet they will neither be able to conclude their bargain nor fold it up. And the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and taken the milk away, yet he will not be able to drink it."
The Angel of the Trumpet: Verse 51 details the second blowing of the Trumpet which brings the dead out of their graves.
Sunan al-Tirmidhi (2431): The Prophet ﷺ described the intense gravity of the Angel responsible for this command: "How can I enjoy myself when the Angel of the Trumpet (Israfil) has placed the Trumpet to his mouth, lowered his forehead, and is listening intently, waiting for the command to blow it?"
"They will say, 'O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?' [The angels will say], 'This is what the Most Merciful promised, and the messengers told the truth.' It will not be but one shout, and immediately they will all be brought present before Us." (Surah Ya-Sin 36:52-53)
The State of the Grave Between the Blasts: Verse 52 mentions the disbelievers calling their graves a "sleeping place" (Marqadina). Classical commentators note that between the first blast (which kills all living things) and the second blast (which resurrects everyone), the punishment of the grave is temporarily paused, causing the wrongdoers to feel they were merely "asleep" before the ultimate terror of the Judgment begins.
The First to Rise from the Earth: The Prophet ﷺ confirmed the sequence of events of this verse:
Sahih al-Bukhari (3414) & Sahih Muslim (2278): The Prophet ﷺ said: "The people will fall unconscious on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first to regain consciousness (or the first to emerge when the earth splits open). I will find Musa (Moses) holding tightly onto one of the pillars of the Throne of Allah..."

While Surah Ya-Sin verse 54 is located at the bottom of page 443 in the standard Medina Mus'haf, it represents the absolute culmination of the passage regarding the Day of Judgment before the page turns.
"So this Day no soul will be wronged was it all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do." (Surah Ya-Sin 36:54)
Classical works of Tafsir (including Ibn Kathir, Al-Qurtubi, and Al-Tabari) connect this pivotal verse regarding absolute divine justice to several foundational authentic Hadiths and principles of the Sunnah:
The verse guarantees that "no soul will be wronged at all." In the Sunnah, this is anchored by a famous Hadith Qudsi (a divine narration where the Prophet ﷺ speaks directly from Allah):
Sahih Muslim (2577): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ reported that Allah the Almighty said: "O My servants! I have forbidden injustice (Dhulm) for Myself, and I have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another... O My servants! It is only your deeds that I keep track of for you, and then I recompense you for them in full. So let him who finds good praise Allah, and let him who finds other than that blame no one but himself."
This primary narration provides the exact legal and theological mechanism behind verse 54: Allah's self-imposed restriction against unfairness.
The final clause states, "and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do." The Sunnah heavily expounds upon how the cosmic scale (Al-Mizan) functions to weigh these exact deeds without a single atom of bias.
The Weight of Good Character:
Sunan Abi Dawud (4799) & Sunan al-Tirmidhi (2002): The Prophet ﷺ said: "Nothing is heavier on the Scale of the believer on the Day of Resurrection than good character. For indeed, Allah hates the harsh and the vulgar."
The Recompense of Secret Sins: The Sunnah clarifies that even the smallest hidden actions will be brought forth to fulfill the verse's clause of complete recompense.
Sahih al-Bukhari (6511) & Sahih Muslim (2968): The Prophet ﷺ said: "There is none among you but his Lord will speak to him on the Day of Resurrection without an interpreter between them. He will look to his right and see nothing but the deeds he has put forth; he will look to his left and see nothing but the deeds he has put forth..."
To demonstrate how far Allah takes the phrase "no soul will be wronged at all," the Prophet ﷺ revealed that divine justice on this Day is so absolute that it extends even to non-human creation before they are turned to dust.
Sahih Muslim (2582): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The rights will surely be restored to those to whom they are due on the Day of Resurrection, to such an extent that a hornless sheep will break back even with a horned sheep [that harmed it in the world]."
Scholars of Tafsir emphasize this Hadith to show that if un-accountable beasts are given legal grid-alignment and justice, the human soul mentioned in verse 54 will be judged with meticulous, flawless perfection.
