Tafsir Al-Qurtubi

Al-Jami' li-Ahkam al-Qur'an was compiled over several decades during the 13th century (7th century AH).

While Imam Al-Qurtubi did not leave a single exact completion date for the entire multi-volume work, key historical markers outline its timeline:

• Started: Circa 1230s–1240s CE in Islamic Spain (Al-Andalus) before he migrated east due to the Reconquista.

• Completed: By 1273 CE (671 AH) in Egypt, shortly before his death.

He worked on refining and expanding the text throughout his lifetime, completing the final volumes during his later years in Minya, Egypt.
