Page 334 of the standard Uthmani codex contains Surah Al-Hajj (Chapter 22), verses 16 through 23.
This specific page is incredibly significant in the study of Hadith and prophetic tradition. It contains a verse of prostration (Sajdah), the specific historical context behind a legendary battle duel, and descriptions of how the cosmic order submits to God.
Verse 18 illustrates a grand cosmic reality:
"Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people..." (Quran 22:18).
A famous narration in Sahih al-Bukhari provides a glimpse into the unseen reality of how the sun fulfills its prostration mentioned in this verse:
The Narration: Abu Dharr al-Ghifari narrated that the Prophet ﷺ asked him at sunset, "O Abu Dharr! Do you know where the sun goes?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet ﷺ said, "It goes and prostrates beneath the Throne, and takes permission to rise again, and it is permitted..."
Surah Al-Hajj is unique because it is the only chapter in the Quran that contains two verses requiring a prostration of recitation (Sajdah al-Tilawah). Verse 18 on this page is the first of the two.
The Sunnah Practice: The companion Uqbah ibn Amir asked the Prophet ﷺ: "O Messenger of Allah, has Surah Al-Hajj been given a preference because it contains two prostrations?" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Yes, and whoever does not prostrate for them should not recite them."

Verse 19 moves from cosmic alignment to a sharp historical flashpoint:
"These are two adversaries who have disputed concerning their Lord. But those who disbelieved will have cut out for them garments of fire..." (Quran 22:19).
The Sunnah explicitly documents the exact moment and the exact individuals this verse was revealed for. It tracks back to the Battle of Badr (the first major conflict in Islamic history), specifically the prestigious three-on-three champion duel that preceded the general combat.
In Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, the companions recount the battlefield origins of this verse with absolute precision:
The Adversaries: The Muslim champions stepped forward: Ali ibn Abi Talib, Hamzah (the Prophet's uncle), and Ubaydah ibn al-Harith. The pagan Quraysh met them with their own champions: Utbah ibn Rabi'ah, his brother Shaybah, and his son Al-Walid ibn Utbah.
The Revelation: Ali ibn Abi Talib proudly stated: "I am the first who will kneel before the Most Merciful for a dispute on the Day of Resurrection." The sub-narrator Qays ibn Abbad added: "About them [the duelists] this verse was revealed: 'These are two adversaries who have disputed concerning their Lord...'"
The Outcome: The Muslim champions decisively defeated their opponents, cementing a major moral victory at the very start of the battle.

After detailing the severe punishments of the deniers in verses 19–22, the page transitions to the rewards of the righteous in verse 23:
"Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds into gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk." (Quran 22:23).
The Prophet ﷺ directly tied the physical rituals of the Sunnah performed in this life to the placement of these exact jewelry pieces and adornments in the next.
The Narration: Abu Hurayrah reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The adornment of the believer [in Paradise] will reach as far as his ablution (Wudu) reached."
The Visual Connection: Washing the arms thoroughly up to and slightly past the elbows during daily prayers serves as the literal canvas for where Allah will place the golden bracelets mentioned on page 334.
